Emmerdale spoilers: Sinister twist as killer Kim considers murder of new enemy

Kim Tate (Claire King) has several reasons to dislike Emmerdale newcomer Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco). For one thing she’s Kim’s husband Will Taylor (Dean Andrews)’s ex.

Worse than that, she abandoned Will and their then infant daughter Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and wasn’t heard of again, leaving Will to bring up Dawn alone.

Will was shocked when he got a call from the local hospital because Rose was there with an arm injury – and he was named on her notes as her next of kin. It wasn’t a happy reunion with Will warning Rose to stay away from his family.

Later, Dawn and Billy (Jay Kontzle)’s baby son Evan had an accident and they had to take him to hospital – where they bumped into Rose. Dawn was shocked to be confronted by the mother she’d never really known.

In Monday (April 29)’s episode, Rose decided she needed to talk to Dawn properly and made her way to Home Farm – where she walked straight in because the door was unlocked, much to Kim’s annoyance.

Rose asked to talk to Dawn alone, but Dawn insisted on Kim being present to hear her tell Rose that she really wasn’t interested in hearing her attempts at an explanation for abandoning her as a child. Telling Rose to leave her family alone, Dawn left.

Kim and Rose were left alone, and it’s fair to say that there’s zero chance of them enjoying a friendly drink together at the Woolpack any time soon. Kim offered Rose £2,000 to leave Emmerdale and never come back.

Rose suggested that Kim should keep the money and spend it on updating her wardrobe. ‘Dynasty was very last millennium so you can bog off,’ she said.

Kim simply shrugged her padded shoulders and upped the offer to £3,000 – and added a little warning. She said she would do anything to protect her family and had various methods, some of which ‘can be a little more messy.’

Of course Rose can’t know about Kim’s track record or her ‘Killer Kim’ reputation, particularly when she’s acting to protect her family and friends. Just look at how she and Will swiftly dealt with Dawn’s ex, Alex (Liam Boyle). Or how she had no qualms about covering up the fact that her horse had killed Lydia (Karen Blick)’s rapist Craig Reed (Ben Addis).

But Kim had enough of a steely glint in her eyes for Rose to realise that she was deadly serious.

‘Bog off to Benidorm,’ Kim told her. Will Rose do the sensible thing and get out of town while she still can?
