BBC EastEnders ‘rumble’ dark twist for Slater teen mum Lily
BBC EastEnders' viewers are predicting a dark twist for Slater teen mum Lily as the pressure of looking after her family is beginning to take its toll on the youngster
EastEnders has aired distressing scenes for Lily (Lillia Turner) as she attempts to keep the Slater household afloat, but fans are predicting a heartbreaking twist for the young mum.
Last week, Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) was left devastated when she found out that her boyfriend Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) had been having an affair with Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).
Despite Jean’s pleas for Harvey to stay, he opted for a new life across the Square with Kathy, leaving Jean watching helplessly as he walked away.
On Monday (May 19), it was revealed that Jean and Big Mo (Laila Morse) had left Walford to stay with Fat Elvis for a break from all the drama.
Meanwhile, a grief-stricken Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) continued to struggle following Martin Fowler’s (James Bye) d.e.a.t.h and won’t leave her bedroom.
With Jean absent and Stacey refusing to leave her bed, Lily and Freddie (Bobby Brazier) are trying to manage the Slater house. The pressure is getting to Lily, who is skipping school to do house chores, while Freddie is forced to seek help from Kat (Jessie Wallace).
When Kat arrived at the Slaters, she was greeted by a stressed-out Lily who pleaded with her not to have her mum taken away, hinting at a mental health episode, reports Belfast Live.
Lily then tells Freddie and Kat to leave while Stacey’s children can be heard causing a ruckus in the front room.
In a heart-stopping moment, Lily was heard screaming for help as baby Charli’s cries echoed in the background. She rushed to Kat, explaining that Charli had taken a tumble off the bed.
“I was just putting clothes away in Arthur’s room, I came back and she must have fallen off the bed, and caught her leg or something. I don’t know what’s happened”, a panicked Lily confided in Kat and Freddie.
Kat tried to calm the situation, assuring: “It’s just a little cut, alright; there are no broken bones.”
She then insisted that Lily get Charli to the hospital, urging: “Just get to the hospital, yeah, just get her checked out. It’s alright, don’t worry.”
But with Lily already under immense stress, some viewers are speculating that baby Charli might be taken from the Slaters’ home, especially since Stacey is also responsible for the child.
Fans took to social media to express their concerns, with one commenting: “Get her to hospital. Say goodbye to that baby #EastEnders.”
Another sympathised: “Poor Lily”, while a third added: “I think she’s terrified in case someone tries to call SS. #EastEnders.”
One more fan reflected on Lily’s tough life: “Lily’s life is honestly a nightmare… had a baby, deadbeat dad, lost her stepdad, having to look after all her siblings and she’s only 14”.
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer
