One Emmerdale couple were left terrified in recent scenes when they had to take their son to hospital again.
Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) was horrified to find a bruise on son Evan’s leg, and decided to ring Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) at the surgery, as her baby had been restless for a while.
Liam urged her to take him to A&E, and soon Dawn and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) were anxiously awaiting test results.
However, Evan’s health wasn’t the only thing that was worrying Dawn.
With the nurses and doctors out of the room, she expressed her worries that they may be calling the police, given that they had only brought Evan in a few days ago and he now had more bruises.
As Dawn worried about being reported for child abuse, Billy tried to reassure her that all they cared about was Evan’s health, and he would soon be proved right when the doctors returned.
Dawn and Billy were left devastated as the doctor revealed that Evan was a ‘very poorly little boy’, before explaining that he could be suffering from an infection, auto-immune disease or a type of blood cancer, like Leukaemia.
The terrified parents agreed to let doctors take a bone marrow biopsy from Evan, though Dawn worried that it would hurt him.
The doctor reiterated how ill Evan was and assured them that they were determined to get to the bottom of his illness in order to treat him quickly.
In upcoming scenes, Dawn and Billy’s world will be turned upside down when Evan is officially diagnosed with Leukaemia, leaving them with a difficult road ahead.
