Emmerdale Robert Sugden spoilers: Aaron’s decision and Robert’s secret revealed

Viewers tuning into Emmerdale on Thursday night will see the dramatic fallout to Robert Sugden’s comeback on the ITV soap.

With actor Ryan Hawley confirming he is making a permanent comeback to the show with huge scenes ahead, there were many questions left unanswered on Wednesday night. Ryan’s character gatecrashed Aaron’s wedding to his half-brother John Sugden who Robert has never met.

The episode ended with Aaron shellshocked and emotional at seeing his ex after so long, and fans were just as reactive. There were gasps no doubt, as the moment Robron fans have been waiting for for six years finally arrived.

Nothing was explained though about whether he was actually back, if this was real and how on Earth he was out of prison. The episode ended before we could get anyones’ reactions, including Aaron, as Robert stormed back into his life.

But now, amid new spoiler images teasing Aaron and Robert’s first scenes together since 2019 when Robert was sent to prison, the truth is out. Thursday’s episode is now available to watch on ITVX and it will air on ITV1 at 7:30pm on Thursday evening.

The Mirror has decided not to reveal what happens in the episode to keep the secrets until transmission. But what we can say is that fans get plenty of drama and epic scenes in the latest viewing.

There’s Aaron’s reaction to Robert’s return and him gatecrashing his wedding. Ultimately Aaron will be forced to come to a decision and choose between Aaron and John – but will we find this out tonight?

This was teased by Ryan who revealed Robert would be back for Aaron with the feelings still very much there, and how he’d want to stop the wedding. Ryan also revealed how it would be left up to Aaron to decide where his heart lies, and who he loved between Robert and John.

As for the episode, we will see Aaron’s initial reaction and conversations between him and Robert. There will be hints at what is to come but also an explanation about Robert being there and not in prison.

We find out how he found out about the wedding and why he’s really there, as well as the village’s reaction to his comeback. Viewers can watch this all now on ITVX and find out all of Robert’s secrets in regards to his abrupt appearance.

It comes as new images show Robert in the village, and he and Aaron speaking in different locations. We see Aaron confront Robert at the wedding, as John waits nervously to see how this will impact it all.

Then the pair are shown on the footbridge, but what will Robert tell him and how will Aaron react? It comes as Ryan revealed that not only is he back on the soap, but he’s sticking around on a permanent basis.

“The secret is out today! My character is returning permanently and not just for Aaron and John’s wedding. I am back for good, and I am so excited to be playing Robert again,” he said.
