Tyler Perry’s House of Payne | Does Jazmine Have Feelings For Jaxon?

“No, Jasmine, Don’t Do It!” — Why a Jackson Redemption Arc Makes No Sense

“But dad—”
“No, no, no.”
“But dad, nothing. You just sleep on it. That’s what adults do.”

And with that simple exchange, we’re pushed further into what should be a moment of clarity for Jasmine… but instead, it’s spiraling toward a path that makes absolutely no sense.

Let’s be real: the idea of Jasmine eventually forgiving Jackson and even dating him? That’s a hard no. A massive, world-shaking NO. Yes, we saw her get excited about their first study date — she was smiling, hopeful, maybe even crushing a little. But he flipped that on its head by cheating on the assignment using her paper, dragging her into an academic scandal, and almost ruining her future. Then, when she refused to cover for him, he retaliated by smearing her name online.

That’s not a mistake. That’s premeditated sabotage.

Now, here comes the new professor, trying to stay neutral — telling her to “sleep on it,” to decide if she wants to work with Jackson again. And CJ? Her dad? He thinks she’s conflicted because she “has a heart” for the boy.

I’m sorry, but what?

Jasmine is sharp. She’s smart. Her mind is as quick as her mouth, and that’s saying something. Sure, TV tropes love to redeem the “bad boy,” and yes, sometimes writers can’t resist forcing a love interest where there shouldn’t be one. But this? This is tone-deaf and honestly insulting to her character development.

Jackson isn’t some troubled soul with a tragic past or a struggle with addiction. He’s just a guy who lies, manipulates, and betrays. He chose to weaponize Jasmine’s trust against her — multiple times. That doesn’t deserve forgiveness, let alone a romantic arc.

And for those comparing him to Janine? Completely different ballgame. Janine’s addiction played a role in her poor decisions, but even then, she took accountability. Jackson? He’s never owned up — he just keeps digging a deeper hole and expects Jasmine to throw him a rope.

This isn’t just about Jackson. It’s a pattern. Her brother knocked up a stripper. Her cousin married a woman who scammed him. Her dad got back with her former addict mom. And now, Jasmine? She was supposed to be the one to break the cycle.

Instead, we’re being told she’s “conflicted” because she has feelings for the guy who trashed her life?

No. Just… no.

CJ pushing for her to give Jackson another chance is baffling. He should be the one reminding her of her worth, her boundaries, and how not to fall into the same mess he and the rest of the family did.

Anyway, that’s my rant. What do you think? Do you believe Jasmine still has feelings for Jackson, or is the show just forcing a bad trope for drama’s sake? Let me know in the comments, and I’ll catch you in the next video.
