Emmerdale star Danny Miller’s life behind-the-scenes – from famous dad to NHS worker wife

EXCLUSIVE: Danny Miller is best known for playing the role of Aaron Dingle in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale. He also appeared on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2021.

Danny Miller is one of the most recognisable faces on our television screens, mainly due to him playing the iconic role of Aaron Dingle on Emmerdale. He also proved popular on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2021 and even went on to win the show.

But away from his TV career, Danny is a doting father of two children and many fans are unaware that he is also related to someone rather famous. Danny is the son of Vince Miller, who is famed for being a singer and comedian.

His father is a popular Manchester entertainer who has now retired from showbiz. He worked as a VIP host at Manchester United Football Club for 29 years and would interview football legends during match days.

During his 65-year career, Vince worked alongside the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson and Shirley Bassey. He left his old job at Old Trafford in 2017 after he sparked backlash by putting his arm around a waitress and calling her “love.”

At the age of 82, Vince announced that he would be officially retiring from showbiz and entertainment. In an interview with Manchester Evening News, he said: “I’ve no upset about it, the time is now to get out while you’re on top, you don’t want people saying ‘not him again’!”

Danny is also a proud father to two children. His childhood sweetheart Steph Jones gave birth to the couple’s first baby in October 2021: a boy called Albert.

He became a father again in 2023 and Stephanie gave birth to a girl, Edith. They appeared on the ITV show Loose Women with their newborn daughter in August 2023 to talk about their family growing.

During their chat, Edith started to cry and Steph began breastfeeding whilst the show was still live broadcasting. Danny and his wife recieved heaps of praise from viewers who expressed their pride at normalising breastfeeding in public.

Danny and Stephanie first met eachother when they were 10-years old and dated when they were teenagers. They lost touch when Danny moved away from the area, but reconnected through his sister as they both found themselves needing help with their mental wellbeing.

She previously told The Sunday Mirror: “He was the light at the end of my tunnel. Danny has talked about his own mental health and how I’ve helped, but he never really takes credit for what he does for other people.

“He’s been my absolute rock and he’s never admitted how much he’s helped me. I’d hate to think where I’d be without him because I was so shut off; my mum was so worried about me.”

Steph, who works in the NHS, added: “He’d take pictures when I wasn’t aware and then show me and say, ‘Look at how beautiful you are’. It’s such a small thing but he really lifted me up.

“Now we know each other so well that we both know when something is up and we can help each other.”
