Emmerdale’s Mack Boyd star drops cryptic clue over flashforward woodland chase
Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb, who plays Mackenzie Boyd, has teased his character could be in danger as he discussed the chilling flashforward scenes.
Emmerdale’s Lawrence Robb has hinted at potential peril for his character Mackenzie ‘Mack’ Boyd as intriguing flashforwards earlier this year depicted him in a panic within woodland settings.
The soap started off the year with ominous future glimpses of its characters, leaving fans with the chilling image of Mack in an intense sprint through the forests.
Questions have arisen about whether Mack was racing towards trouble or escaping it, and now Lawrence spills some speculative insight.
On a recent episode of This Morning, soap expert Sharon Marshall revealed her chat with various stars, including a snippet on that suspenseful woodlands scene from Emmerdale, reportsĀ Belfast Live.
Speaking to Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, she expressed: “It’s been bugging me all week that we had that flashforward of him running through the woods that went out in January.
The segment transitioned to a pre-recorded titbit where Lawrence hinted at the predicament his character might be facing.
Reflecting on that mysterious scene, he clarified: “At the time, they didn’t know whether I was running away from someone or whether I was running to chase someone or something.
“I had to keep it reality ambiguous and really enigmatic. As a little teaser, I think probably I’m running from something or someone.”
Digging for more details, Sharon enquired whether Emmerdale viewers should brace for turbulence between him and John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
Curiously, she probed: “Are you going to be the man to find him out?”
Playing his cards close to his chest, he responded cryptically, adding: “I can’t tell you that! Maybe…maybe.”
Once the interview concluded and the feed switched back to Sharon in the This Morning studio, Cat noted how Sharon nearly coaxed a revelation from him.
Although the soap expert appeared confident she had gleaned some information as she declared: “It wasn’t a denial, was it?! It’s got to be John Sugden.”
As Mack becomes increasingly wary of m.u.r.d.e.r.o.u.s John’s actions, is he destined to be the next target?
Yet, it might just be newcomer Ray (Joe Absolom), an old acquaintance, who shakes things up for Mack.
Purportedly arriving to deal farm machinery, Ray’s clandestine narcotics operations soon come to light.
The character description hints: “Despite Ray’s calm and collected exterior, it’s clear a menacing streak hides just below the surface.”
Emmerdale is available to watch on ITVX.
