Emmerdale’s Kim Tate to ‘find love again’ and it’s with returning soap icon
Emmerdale's Kim Tate has been single for a while following the tragic d.e.a.t.h of her husband Will Taylor
Emmerdale fans reckon they’ve cracked the case of who’ll be Kim Tate’s next squeeze, and it seems a well-kent face could be the one.
The soap matriarch, played by Claire King, has had viewers glued to their screens since 1989. As Emmerdale’s femme fatale, she’s been at the heart of numerous monumental plots.
Kim’s rollercoaster ride in the Dales has included everything from bitter battles to a jaw-dropping fake d.e.a.t.h stunt—not to mention her fair share of steamy love affairs.
From her tumultuous relationship and subsequent marriage to Frank Tate (Norman Bowler) to her latest dalliance with Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), romance has often been on the menu for Kim.
Tragically, after retaking their vows at Christmastime, Will suffered a fatal heart attack, leaving Kim to mourn her lost love, reports Belfast Live.
Since then, Kim has buried herself in her business ventures, but the village gossip mill hints she might not be single for much longer.
Fans have been busy speculating online, with one social media sleuth pointing towards a return of a Dingle legend as Kim’s potential new flame.
One viewer voiced their matchmaking musings on an Emmerdale Facebook group, asking, “It’s time for Kim to get a new man, who else thinks the same?”.
Another fan chipped in with their two pence, suggesting, “I agree, it would probably have to be either someone new or a former character. I can’t see her with any current people on the soap.”
The speculation hit fever pitch with the name drop of none other than soap icon Eli Dingle (Joe Gilgun), with a third fan proposing, “Eli Dingle?!”
Keen punters weighed in with thoughts like “I can kind of see this happening tbf,” and “I’d love this!” showing that excitement and anticipation are truly brewing amongst the show’s loyal following.
Joseph Gilgun, who played Eli Dingle on the show, first appeared in 2006. As Marlon Dingle’s (Mark Charnock) younger brother, Eli quickly became a fan favourite.
He was involved in several major storylines, including an affair with his cousin Debbie (Charley Webb) and aiding Alice’s (Ursula Holden-Gill) suicide. However, after a robbery in 2010, Eli left the village for good.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
