Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve “uncovered” Paddy Kirk’s potential downfall following a dramatic Bear Wolf storyline twist.
Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and his wife, Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), have recently shared their worries for Paddy’s father, Bear (Joshua Richards), over his unexplained actions.
On Thursday (June 12), the couple were at their wits’ end after a sleepless night caused by Bear’s insomnia. He notably kept them up all night as he watched a film loudly on the TV.
Worried about his father’s health, Paddy didn’t waste any time in arranging a GP appointment for him.
At the medical centre, Bear confided in Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), opening up about his struggles with sleep, reports Belfast Live.

“I’m a pain in the bum, I know. But I’m an old man, and I’m living in someone else’s house and I sit up at night just staring at the telly, just waiting, waiting for the day to end,” Bear expressed.
Later, Paddy and Mandy found themselves struggling to entertain Paddy’s young daughter, Eve (Bella James), as exhaustion took its toll.
Bear decided to go out and get his granddaughter some sweets, and asked her to stay “nice and quiet” in his absence.
However, while Paddy and Mandy were asleep on the couch, Eve stumbled upon Bear’s sleeping tablets on the dining table and started to open the box.
Paddy awoke just in time to prevent Eve from swallowing any pills, while a panicked Mandy made sure none were missing.

Upon Bear’s return, Paddy confronted him for his carelessness with the medication.
“Me and Mandy fell asleep on account of, you know, being tired on account of, you know, you… You just nearly gave Eve an overdose,” Paddy exclaimed.
Bear retorted: “I’ll be careful. Something bad could have happened but it didn’t. How about being thankful instead of angry?”
However, Paddy was far from pleased with his father’s response, stating: “I am thankful, but I’m angry at you. I’ve already got one child, I don’t need another.”
During Friday’s (June 13) episode, now available for streaming on ITVX, Paddy and Mandy attempted to reconcile with Bear by purchasing him an old motorcycle to fix up.

After witnessing the tense scenes, numerous Emmerdale fans expressed their annoyance at Paddy for blaming Bear when he had fallen asleep.
Several have even suggested that Paddy might face repercussions by being reported to social services for not properly caring for his daughter.
“How is this not Mandy and Paddy’s fault??? Bear only popped out for a few minutes and left them all wide awake and Paddy and Mandy looking after Eve. How has he done anything wrong?” one individual posted on a Facebook fan page.
Another chimed in: “Paddy and Mandy shouldn’t have been looking after Eve if they were that tired. Not fair them blaming Bear,” while a third commented: “Paddy could get social services called on him after that.”
A fourth fan echoed these sentiments, stating: “They are to blame, makes me mad how they are so quick to blame Bear. He should call social services on Paddy.”
