Emmerdale exit ‘sealed’ for Victoria Sugden after 31 years in John twist
Emmerdale viewers are convinced that a huge clue has emerged hinting at Victoria Sugden's exit from the village after a difficult few months
Emmerdale fans reckon they’ve spotted a significant hint suggesting Victoria Sugden’s exit from the soap.
Victoria, born in 1994 to Jack Sugden (Clive Hornby) and his then-fiancée Sarah Connolly (Alyson Spiro), has been portrayed by various actresses throughout the years.
Jessica Heywood played the character as a young child until 1997, succeeded by Hannah Midgley until 2006. Since then, Isabel Hodgins has assumed the role.
Over time, Victoria has been at the heart of several dramatic plots. She survived an explosion she unintentionally triggered, was admitted to psychiatric care, and accidentally struck Ashley Thomas (John Middleton) with her car.
In 2015, Victoria wed Adam Barton (Adam Thomas), but was left devastated when he fled following Emma Barton’s (Gillian Kearney) d.e.a.t.h in 2017, according to Belfast Live.

One particularly poignant storyline saw Victoria sexually assaulted by car salesman Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie) in 2019. When Lee denied the assault, Victoria’s brother Robert (Ryan Hawley) attacked him.
Robert was subsequently arrested and pleaded guilty to assaulting Lee prior to his d.e.a.t.h, resulting in a 14-year prison sentence.
Last month, after six years away, Robert made a surprise return to Emmerdale during his ex-husband Aaron Dingle’s (Danny Miller) wedding to his half-brother John (Oliver Farnworth).
After sharing a kiss with Aaron, Robert’s hopes of reviving their romance were dashed when Aaron decided to wed John and start anew.
Robert quickly found himself back behind bars for breaching bail conditions following the nuptials. The tense drama unfolded in Tuesday’s episode (June 17), when viewers saw Aaron confront Robert in prison, revealing it was he who tipped off the authorities weeks prior.

John made a chilling appearance at the jail, darkly warning Robert and declaring ominously that Robert “has no idea” of his capabilities. Defiant, Robert mocked John, saying: “What is your big secret, Johnny boy? Let me guess, you weasel around stealing other people’s lives.”
He further exclaimed, determined to protect Aaron from John’s influence: “Before this chat, I was willing to let Aaron go and move on, but the more I know you, the more I don’t want you anywhere near him… I’m coming back, and I’m gonna make sure Aaron sees what a messed-up freak you really are.”
While Robert sets his sights on John, Emmerdale fans speculate whether Victoria might be departing the village soon. One spectator expressed their thoughts on Facebook, writing, “I think Victoria’s going to leave soon, she’s hardly ever in the show, and every time she’s on screen now, it feels like filler.”
Other enthusiasts echo similar sentiments, one predicting, “Now Robert’s coming back for the foreseeable, I think she could go,” while another agrees, suggesting Victoria’s exit is indeed plausible.
Mirroring this sentiment, another enthusiast remarked: “As it gets closer to John being found out, Victoria might leave the village when he does.”
