Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale‘s Eric Pollard is forced to back down from his return to villainy next week.
Eric realises that he has some making-up to do after being caught out by Kerry Wyatt.
Last month, Eric misled Kerry over the stolen necklace that she was hoping to sell for a small fortune.
Eric made out that the piece of jewellery was worthless, but then sneakily sold it himself for a large sum.
To make matters worse, Eric allowed Kerry to face a backlash over being unable to pay for her daughter Amy’s wedding to Matty Barton.
Eric stepped in to save the day by paying for the ceremony himself, but he added a sting to the tail by informing Kerry that he expected her to settle the debt in the long run.
In Thursday’s episode (May 9), Kerry manages to get into Eric’s home and she investigates on his laptop.
Kerry is livid when she finds out that Eric conned her by selling her necklace for a fortune.
She immediately plots her revenge by convincing Tracy Robinson to let her run a cash-only sale at the shop.
The villagers flock to grab some huge bargains – and it’s only a matter of time before Eric finds out that Kerry has found a way to get even with him.
In follow-on scenes, Amy also finds out everything and she gives Eric a frosty reception when he approaches her and Matty at The Woolpack.
Neither are pleased to see Eric now that his deception has been exposed, sparking a showdown over what happened.
When Eric makes an emotional apology next week, Amy reluctantly agrees to give him one last chance, but has he learned his lesson after his ruthless game-playing?
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Monday, May 13.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
