Emmerdale spoilers: Ruby’s dangerous true colours exposed as Ethan is left to die in deliberate hit and run

Ruby looks in distress as Ethan is led away into a police car in Emmerdale

Heading out, it soon became obvious that the culprit was Ethan – which immediately placed a target on his back as far as Ruby was concerned.

We’ve seen that Ruby can be scary at the best of times, both physically – such as kneeing Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) in the groin when he annoyed her – and in other ways. Her revenge on Tracy Robinson (Amy Wyatt), by getting Caleb to destroy her business, was absolutely ruthless.

In upcoming episodes the Miligans are anguished to hear that Nicky can’t be brought out of his coma yet. Struggling with this news, Caleb is furious when he bumps into Charles and Ethan in the village. Seeing Ethan walking around apparently fine while Nicky’s life hangs in the balance pitches Caleb into a murderous mood.

This is shared by both Cain and Ruby, who see Ethan out and about at different times.

Later, Charles is anxious when the village fete begins and there’s no sign of his son. As the fete gets into full swing there’s a shock for the villagers when Ethan limps into Main Street, covered in blood and bruises.

He collapses in the street.

What viewers will see before that is that Ethan has been the victim of a deliberate hit and run, with a car hitting him before screeching away from the scene.

As Ethan’s concerned family members gather round him and an ambulance is called, Ruby, Caleb and Cain look on from a distance.

Was one of them responsible?

When Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) saw Ethan Anderson (Emile John) being led away from Emmerdale in a police car, she was enraged and yelled at him that she ‘hoped he’d rot in hell.’

Ethan was arrested after his father, vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), contacted the police. Ethan had confessed to him that he’d been the one who was driving Nicky (Lewis Cope)’s car when they were involved in a crash – and Nicky had been left in a coma and fighting for his life.

As Ruby waited for news of her son she went home briefly, where she bumped into Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb), the person who’d found Nicky after the accident and called an ambulance.

As the two women bonded over Ruby’s worry for her son and Moira’s own experience of losing a child, Ruby vowed that she would have revenge on whoever was responsible for Nicky’s situation.
