Emmerdale’s Ethan Anderson makes huge mistake trying to cover up car crash

The solicitor was questioned by police over the accident that saw him frame an unconscious Nicky Miligan for the crash

EMMERDALE’S Ethan Anderson has made a huge mistake trying to cover up his role in the car crash tonight.

The solicitor – who is played by actor Emile John in the ITV soap – was questioned by police over the accident that saw him frame an unconscious Nicky Miligan for drink driving.

Viewers watched as Ethan dragged an unconscious Nicky to the drivers side and flee, leaving him for dead.

Fortunately Moira Dingle found her nephew and called an ambulance and Nicky has been in a coma in hospital ever since.

The police ruled out Nicky driving the car due to the bruising on his body from the impact – leading Ethan to panic.

He tried to get his dad, vicar Charles, to give him a false alibi, but instead Charles called the police on his own son.

In tonight’s episode Ethan was questioned by police in the presence of a duty solicitor who told him to give a no comment interview.

And that worked out mostly well for Ethan – until the police dropped a bombshell on him.

As he continued to no comment his way through questioning, they asked him if he realised that the car he’d been driving had a dash cam.

The footage would no doubt show Ethan moving Nicky’s unconscious body and framing him for driving.

At first he followed his solicitor’s advice and gave a no comment response but then his own instincts kicked in and he shouted: “Yes, yes I was there OK.”

Seeing an opportunity to give himself a reasonable excuse, he added: “I dragged Nicky out of the car, I made sure he was comfortable and then I went to get help.”

But he had made a huge mistake in lying as the police asked him why he didn’t return.

With no answer, Ethan was granted bail and left the station but with the murderous Miligans and Dingles waiting for him in the village, was forced to bed down in a barn for the night instead.
