Little Isaac (Bobby Dunsmuir) is facing a huge tragedy in Emmerdale and his immediate instinct is to blame his parents.
The little lad has been pressuring Moira (Natalie J Robb) and Cain (Jeff Hordley) to trust him to raise a poorly, orphaned lamb, and after much persuading – and playing the two off against each other – Isaac convinced them to say yes.
Persistence pays off – Minty the lamb is now very much part of the family and Isaac’s one true love.
The day of the village fete rolls around but before it even gets going, the tragedy strikes. Isaac makes the heart-wrenching discovery that Minty the lamb is gone.
Isaac is heartbroken and a full search party is mounted to find the poorly animal, who won’t survive long without care, if he’s not already dead.
Everyone is enlisted, even the newspaper photographer, who manages to interrupt Charity and Mack getting down and dirty in a barn while looking for the creature.
Isaac has some theories on what’s happened to Minty, he fears the four-legged friend has been murdered, and he’s already got a list of suspects.
Top of his list is mum Moira, who didn’t want her to have the lamb in the first place. Is this her way of teaching him a life lesson?
Next on his list is Cain, who is also known for violence, as well as obeying Moira to keep the peace.
