ITV Emmerdale star Rosie Bentham reveals bizarre request from male fans

Emmerdale actress Rosie Bentham has opened upon on the really odd requests she has encountered from male fans while out and about away from filming the hit ITV soap

Emmerdale actress Rosie Bentham has confessed that she has faced a few requests from male fans that has left her bemused.

The 22 year old star, who plays Gabby Thomas in the hit ITV soap, admitted in a recent interview that she is usually approached by hot male fans to have their a video taken with her – for their mum.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: “A lot of guys my age don’t watch Emmerdale, but they’ll come up and ask me to do videos for their mums.”

She added: “It’s usually when we all go out and I’m with the other cast members that I’m more likely to get recognised. You’ll see people next to you scrolling through your Instagram page just to check it’s you.”

Rosie joined the show back in 2016 after replacing Annelise Manojlovic. Since then, Rosie has been involved in a number of hard-hitting storylines that has made her a fan favourite. Among some of the storylines, ones which gripped the nation include becoming a teen mum, a carer for her late father Ashley who sadly passed away after being diagnosed with dementia – and most recently being jilted at the alter by Nicky Miligan just before he came out as gay.

Unlike her character, who is known for her wild side, Rosie’s personality couldn’t be further away from her on-screen persona. And quite often fans confuse the two. She continued: “She’s out there and up for anything, whereas I am not like that at all. When people first meet me, they think I’m this ‘ready to give everything to everyone’ kind of girl.

“But I’m like, ‘No, you’ve got to try a lot harder than that with me, you can’t just walk through the door’. If that was Gabby she’d be raring to go and be like, ‘Come on then, let’s go upstairs’, which is obviously a lot of fun to play, but I’m nothing like that. I’m always very well behaved on a night out.”

However, it wasn’t that long ago Rosie left fans concerned that she had been axed from the soap as she enjoyed a girls holiday to Barcelona with her co-star Daisy Campbell. Sharing their trip with followers, the pair shared pictures from tourist spots such as Sagrada Familia and have made fans jealous as they sipped on cocktails.

But this worried fans. One person asked Daisy: “Where are you? Miss you in the dales.” But she quickly assured fans she’s not leaving anytime soon as she told The Sun: “I’d love to stay on it for as long as I can. I recently signed for another year and couldn’t be happier. I never take it for granted because you never know when they might kill you off. It can happen to anyone.”

Meanwhile, Rosie recently teased upcoming storylines for Gabby. She told DigitalSpy: “I hope there’s happiness for Gabby. I think it’s going to be a really tough few months coming up – obviously she got left on her wedding day. She’s young, she’s going through a lot and a lot of changes. She wants to be successful and she’ll do anything she can to get there. Fingers crossed.”
