Emmerdale’s Marlon Dingle receives distressing call as Rhona’s given devastating news

Emmerdale’s Marlon Dingle (played by Mark Charnock) is set to receive some shocking news in upcoming scenes, as is his wife Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry).

In scenes yet to air on the ITV soap, Rhona and Marlon turn to their lawyer for legal advice following her recent kidnapping charge by the Yorkshire police.

Emmerdale fans will recall Rhona was arrested on kidnapping charges after stealing baby Ivy from behind her father’s back.

Rhona feels Ivy is rightfully hers, as the tot was made with her eggs by her ex-husband Gus Malcolm (Alan McKenna) and his late wife.

In tragic circumstances, his wife died during childbirth and Rhona has been helping raise Ivy while he copes with the grief of it all.

Gus never told Rhona he was going to use the embryos they froze over a decade ago, and it’s been a grey area for their legal teams.

When Rhona discovered Gus wanted to move to France with little Ivy, she took drastic action and fled the village with the youngster.

She was eventually tracked down and charged with kidnap, but the desperate mother is keen on applying for parental rights of Ivy despite the kidnapping.

Emmerdale spoilers have revealed Rhona’s solicitor delivers the news that she must plead guilty to kidnapping to get the most lenient sentence possible.

Later on, Marlon’s daughter April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) shows up and is not pleased.

She scolds Rhona for neglecting them and prioritising Ivy – but how will the Emmerdale veterinarian react to April?

Is Rhona going to end up behind bars and end up without any support? Will the law side with Rhona later down the line?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
