Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) made a massive discovery about Ella Forster (Paula Lane) in Wednesday’s (May 29) episode of Emmerdale.
In the last few weeks, the ITV soap has slowly started to confirm newcomer Ella is hiding a massive secret.
The most recent development saw Ella visit a care home to see a lady called June Phillips, who then sadly died after living with dementia. Ella and June had a strong connection after going through something in their lives that made them ‘very sad’, but we also know Ella wasn’t actually related to June.
One person who has taken it upon herself to do some digging into Ella’s past is Leyla, Liam’s (Jonny McPherson) ex partner.
Leyla and Liam remain great friends despite the divorce, so when Leyla spotted Ella acting strangely around the local doctor, she grew suspicious.
In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, Leyla chatted to Suzy (Martelle Edinborough) about Ella’s lack of online presence. Suzy told her friend that not everyone likes using social media, but Leyla couldn’t shake her concerns.
Breaking into Liam’s house, Leyla started to snoop through Ella’s bag but she ended up getting caught.
Leyla questioned Ella over the fact she couldn’t find a driver’s licence anywhere, but of course in this very moment, Ella was never going to spill her truths.
Back in Take A Vow, Leyla returned to find Liam and Suzy.
Suzy revealed that she had found an article about Ella from a few years ago about a fundraiser, so Liam took this as confirmation Ella had nothing to hide.
But that wasn’t true.
Just as she left, Leyla revealed to Suzy that she had stolen a photograph from Ella’s bag. It was the same one Mandy (Lisa Riley) found a few days ago, and featured a young Ella beside who we’re assuming is her friend.
In a massive twist, Leyla then told Suzy to look on the back of the photo for the names of the two girls – Ruth, and Joanne.
So, who is Ruth, and who is Joanne?
And why on earth did Ella change her name?
