Marlon confirms he’s leaving Emmerdale village after blistering showdown
Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) decided enough is enough in Wednesday’s (June 5) episode of Emmerdale as his relationship problems with Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) struggle to get resolved.
Marlon and Rhona have been in a difficult place ever since Gus – the father of Rhona’s daughter Ivy – went to prison.
The lengthy prison sentence for Gus was only delivered as a result of Rhona changing her statement last minute. Rhona failed to tell Marlon about this move, which left him feeling hurt and betrayed.
These emotions and Rhona’s inability to consult Marlon about decisions have been at the forefront of his mind ever since. To try and resolve this issue, Marlon and Rhona started couple’s counselling but because they’re not listening to each other, it’s not really helping.
In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, Marlon returned home to see Charles (Kevin Mathurin) talking to Rhona about Ivy’s christening.
Prior to Marlon walking through door, Charles put forward the idea of Ivy getting christened and Rhona briefly said they’d have to think about it. However, when the conversation was relayed to Marlon, it was said in a way that made it look like Rhona had made another choice without him.
In the pub kitchen, Rhona tried to talk to Marlon about the chat with Charles but once again, they weren’t listening to each other. With his anger growing, Marlon ended up throwing a bowl across the room – which left Rhona stunned.
While Rhona spoke to Mary (Louise Jameson) about her marital woes, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) was paying a visit to his best friend.
Marlon admitted that he feels overwhelmed by everything and needs a break. With that, Paddy said they could go camping tomorrow and use it as an opportunity for Marlon to clear his head, and talk.
When Rhona returned from the pub, she was surprised to see Marlon and Paddy packing up the car.
Marlon revealed his plan to go camping with Paddy and Rhona was shocked to see he had…made a decision without consulting her.
Hurts, right Rhona?
Marlon then told Rhona they should think about their relationship while he’s away, because he’s genuinely not sure if things will ever be the same between them.
