Beloved Emmerdale favourite arrested after accidentally stabbing a teen in horror showdown
Wedded bliss for Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) hasn’t lasted very long at all – after he accidentally stabbed Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) in Emmerdale.
Earlier this year, Ash teased to us that further woes were about to hit the couple: ‘You never know what’s around the corner and things impact will impact them. With the importance of the story and the representation, it’s a solid message there.
‘But who knows?’
‘We’re always here for the drama!’ added Natalie.
When they said drama, we didn’t expect this!
In tonight’s (6th June) episode, Samson was on cloud nine following the news he’d passed his driving test, and headed down to the garage with his new pal Josh (Oisian Morgan) to check on the repairs for his car.
Shamelessly flirting with Sarah (Katie Hill), who was enjoying her own celebrations on her birthday, Josh later moved onto flirting with another villager, and this time it was Amy.
The lads enjoyed a drink with Sam (James Hooton) outside of The Hide, and Amy was more than happy to laugh Josh’s vulgar comments off as his immaturity.
Inside, after Sam had gone home, the two continued to sup bottles of beer as Matty watched on. Due to how quiet it was, Jai (Chris Bisson) had told him he could get an early finish if nobody else turned up.
Twiddling his thumbs at the counter, he overheard Josh comment on The Hide’s flagging custom, but also saying that Matty needn’t worry if the place shut down because he could find work in a circus.
Disgraceful.
Furious at the teenager’s transphobic abuse, he poured away their drinks and kicked them both out – but it didn’t end there.
Adamant to get revenge, and constantly deadnaming Matty, he charged back in and insisted he serve them more booze.
Obviously that wasn’t going to happen, and he continued with the cashing up and taking dirty plates to the kitchen when Josh shoved Samson towards him, and straight onto a knife.
It became immediately clear that Josh wanted to twist the knife (if you pardon the pun) further by pretending as if Matty had attacked him purposely.
Jai rushed in, and shortly afterwards the emergency services arrived. As Matty was carted off, handcuffed, into the back of a police car, he screamed out for mum Moira’s (Natalie J Robb) help as Sam charged towards him.
Samson begged his dad to stop, but will he be brave enough to tell the truth when the police speak to him? And will he survive the ordeal?
