ITV Emmerdale twist ‘sealed’ as fans rumble real cause of Ethan Anderson’s death
Ruby Fox-Miligan made a crucial decision as she told her son Nicky she would turn herself in for running Ethan Anderson over, causing him to die. But there could be more to it.
With the death of Ethan Anderson weighing heavy on her mind, Ruby Fox-Miligan decided to turn herself into the authorities, although Emmerdale fans believe there’s another surprise for them ahead.
The troublemaker portrayed by Beth Cordingly mowed Ethan over with her car in late May and, days later, the hunky solicitor collapsed at home ahead of his court hearing for his involvement in a drunken car crash, and died at the age of 28.
Ethan’s father Charles has since been a shell of himself and Ruby has been trying to show her support to both him and his partner Manpreet Sharma. Unfortunately for Ruby, her son Nicky (Lewis Cope) was less than pleased with her actions during Wednesday’s trip to the ITV Dales.
Overwhelmed with guilt, citing Charles’ struggle with grief as one of her main reasons, Ruby promised Nicky she would turn herself into the authorities, terrified to see him walk out of Mill Cottage for good.
Meanwhile, viewers at home have sensed another twist is on the cards as Ethan’s real cause of death has yet to be revealed. For now, fans believe in the possibility of him having sustained fatal injuries from his hit and run but some suspect there could be more to his demise.
Viewers of the Yorkshire-based program took to X, otherwise known as Twitter, as they shared their suspicions: “It’s surely going to turn out it wasn’t Rubys fault has cause of death been told”, one of them wrote.
Another echoed: “I bet Ruby confesses then it turns out running him over had nothing to do with his death!!”, just as a third agreed while rumbling another twist and suggesting she could do a runner: “Ruby’s not going to hand herself in, she’s got two storylines on the go. It’ll be an underlying heart condition, she’ll be off the hook, Charles will have a little cry snap out of it and they’ll all be down the pub, ready for the next pile of sh*** episode.”
Elsewhere, a fourth TV watcher quipped, agreeing that Ruby wasn’t likely to go to prison: “Ruby is going to run.” But with her on-screen son Nicky set to leave the eponymous village in upcoming scenes, could there be trouble ahead?
Vengeful Ruby took action after the discovery that Ethan was the reason Nicky was left in a coma after a drunken car crash. Last month, the pair of men were trying to get to Nicky’s boyfriend Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) after a few drinks.
Ethan, who was behind the wheel at the time, escaped the scene and left Nicky for dead. Struggling to cope with the guilt, he then told his father Charles what had happened but was horrified when his own father turned him into the authorities.
