Who will expose Ruby in ITV Emmerdale? Murder ‘sealed’ for troublemaker in revenge scheme

Nicky convinced Ruby to turn herself in to the authorities in Emmerdale but viewers expect her to dodge justice for mowing over Ethan Anderson. Here's what could happen next.

Emmerdale viewers are convinced Ruby Fox-Miligan will avoid facing the music for running Ethan Anderson over and have tried to figure out who could expose her instead.

The troublemaker portrayed by Beth Cordingly deliberately mowed the solicitor over in a vengeful move after her son Nicky (played by Lewis Cope) was left for dead by Ethan following a drunken car crash.

Ethan later died as he was preparing for a court hearing over the crash, with his father Charles and village GP Manpreet Sharma trying their best to revive him in tear-jerking scenes.

Charles has since been a shell of himself, with Ruby pestering both him and Manpreet out of guilt but on Wednesday (June 12), Nicky managed to convince her she needed to do the right thing and turn herself in to the police.

ITV viewers at home raised an eyebrow as they clearly doubted that Ruby would be willing to confess her crime to the authorities and, since Ethan’s death, they have speculated over her possible downfall and have selected a handful of residents who could expose her or take part in a scheme to bring her to justice.

During Thursday’s trip to the Dales (June 13), it was revealed that Ruby wasn’t responsible for Ethan’s death as he allegedly died of a brain aneurysm, much like his paternal grandfather Victor Anderson last year – but Ruby could still be sent to prison for running him over.

One theory suggests that Ruby may be exposed by her own son Nicky, who is due to leave the eponymous village, after she backed out of confessing to the police while Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) could also rumble the truth and expose her to Charles in a huge twist.

Unfortunately for Ruby, move soap viewers have grown concerned for her fate in the Dales as her death could be on the cards. Emmerdale vicar Charles (Kevin Mathurin) has often shown he is capable of great violence, most notably when his estranged daughter Naomi was romantically involved with the devious Alex Moore.

It’s clear Ethan can hold his own in troubling situations but with his overwhelming grief clouding his better judgement, some fans believe Ruby could be the next character to be killed off if he found out what she had done.

“Charles could kill Ruby if he knew the truth”, one viewer penned over on X, otherwise known as Twitter, while another added: “I wouldn’t want to be in Ruby’s shoes if Charles finds out that she’s responsible for Ethan’s death.”

Another quickly echoed: “Charles HAS to be onto Ruby, surely?”, while a fourth ominously warned: “Charles is onto you Ruby.” To make matters worse, Ruby also counts Emmerdale royalty Kim Tate (Claire King) among her enemy as she works out a plan to take her down with Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco) – could the businesswoman be involved in a plan to make Ruby pay as she teams up with Charles for revenge?
