Emmerdale confirms how Tom King will find out about Belle’s abortion and she’s in serious danger
Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) made her way out of the Emmerdale village in Wednesday’s (June 19) episode to begin the process of aborting her baby.
We’ve known for ages that Belle – right now – doesn’t feel ready to be a mother. When she became pregnant, Tom King (James Chase) was over the moon and told Belle that he would do everything in his power to ensure she and their little baby were safe and looked after.
When tonight’s episode of the ITV soap opened, Belle was trying to get access to Tom’s car. She attempted to tell him that she wanted to look at some baby items in a shop across town, but Tom said they could go together at the weekend.
As he left for work, Belle found the car key in a drawer. Feeling fearful, Belle took a risk and slipped it in her pocket.
Outside, Belle needed a cover story. When Amelia (Daisy Campbell) approached with young Esther, she commented on how her daughter loves Piper the dog. An idea forming, Belle persuaded Amelia to take Piper while she attended an appointment.
She then put her phone in the bottom of Esther’s pram, aware that Tom would check the tracking app and believe she was in the woods walking their dog.
At the surgery, Belle confirmed to the nurse that she does want to go through with the abortion because she doesn’t think she’d be a good mother.
returning home, Belle put Tom’s car back and then heard him approaching the vets with Rhona (Zoe Henry). Sinking further into the seat so Tom didn’t spot her, Belle didn’t realise her parking ticket was sitting on the floor of the passenger side.
Back at home, after Belle took the first tablet to begin the abortion process, she headed downstairs to join Tom.
As Tom sat with Belle and placed his hand on her stomach, he spoke about how becoming a father will be the best thing that’s ever happened to him.
All Belle could do was try and hold back the tears, fully aware of what her body was about to go through, and the terrifying reaction from Tom if he was to ever find out the truth.
