Emmerdale’s Tom King manipulates Belle after wedding meltdown
He shows more disturbing behaviour.
Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Tom King has continued to manipulate wife Belle Dingle following his wedding day meltdown in Emmerdale.
Earlier this week, Tom lashed out at Belle for her family ruining their wedding and ordered her to sleep alone on their wedding night.
This continues a pattern of abusive behaviour from Tom, as he has made a series of insulting comments and even pushed Belle when she initially turned down his marriage proposal.
The following morning, Tom acted as if nothing had happened when Mandy turned up to visit Belle and even invited Belle ‘back to bed’ with him as if she’d been there in the first place.
Once Mandy left, Tom turned sheepish as he begged for Belle’s forgiveness and assured her he felt terrible about their argument the night before.
Tom claimed he’d worked so hard to give Belle a “beautiful” wedding day, only for it to be ruined when Ruby publicly accused Caleb of cheating with Tracy.
“I was upset for you more than me,” he insisted.
Belle was still cautious, as she questioned why Tom would be so cruel about her family. However, she ended up having to comfort Tom when he broke down in tears.
“It’s okay,” she told him. “I know my family is a lot. I’m really sorry it’s upset you.”
Later, Belle asked whether Tom would always have problems with the Dingles, but he insisted he appreciated their support most of the time.
“You’re lucky to have them… but we are our own little family now and that is what I’m going to focus on,” Tom told her.
He then declared: “Nobody else matters now, except for us.”
Tom then surprised Belle with a honeymoon getaway to a five-star resort in the Lake District, though he showed his controlling side again by convincing her not to go for a drink with her family.
His horrific behaviour will continue after the newlyweds return from their honeymoon, when Tom humiliates her after she tries to plan a romantic surprise for him.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
