ITV Emmerdale’s Tom King ‘finally rumbled’ as double village exit ‘sealed’

Emmerdale is set for dramatic scenes next week as Tom King makes yet another sinister plan.

The ITV soap is tackling a coercive control storyline with Tom and Belle Dingle, and fans have recently seen Tom isolating and manipulating his partner Belle. With his vile behaviour worsening recently and him having her under surveillance, recent episodes took an even more heartbreaking turn as Tom turned violent.

Only recently, Belle made a difficult decision after discovering she was pregnant. The character secretly terminated her pregnancy last week, deciding she could not go ahead with the pregnancy after Tom had put pressure on her to start a family.

During Monday’s episode, Belle made plans to flee the village after her mental health care coordinator, Rachel, suggested she could be in an abusive marriage. Just as she was about to leave, Tom learnt the truth about Belle’s miscarriage to which he destroyed the barn he was working in before accidentally hitting the barn’s rotary isolator behind him, where Tom was electrocuted. After learning Tom was in hospital, Belle abandoned her plans for Scotland and instead rushed to her husband’s bedside.

Spoilers for next week tease the worrying aftermath as Belle’s family are left concerned for her. In upcoming scenes, Belle begins to panic as Charity, Chas, Mandy and Lydia question her on her relationship with Tom. Charity senses something isn’t right and she pushes Belle to tell her what’s really going on. However, Belle is angered by their incessant questioning and storms out. Later, Charity finds Belle upset outside The Woolpack, where she kindly asks her once more to open up.

Belle tears up as it looks as though she’s about to open up but she soon spots Tom and she shoves Charity away, fleeing home in a panic. It’s not long until Charity is left utterly baffled when Tom shuts down her pursuit of Belle and insists his wife is struggling with her mental health. In a heartbreaking twist, the other women worry that Charity overreacted and she frustratedly leaves the room, afraid she’s missed her chance to convince them that something’s wrong.

Back home, Tom’s face turns cold as he makes more sinister plans and takes a phone call, where he confirms he wants to interview for a job in Wales. The next day, Charity tries to reassure Belle and make it up to her but the latter is left unimpressed as she turns away from her family. Meanwhile, Tom is in an online interview and is reminded that the job he’s applying for is in a very remote part of Wales.

In yet another worrying twist, Tom lies to the interviewer and claims that Belle would be delighted to move there. Later, Tom puts his sinister plan in action as he offers to take Belle on holiday, suggesting a remote cottage to which Belle warms to the idea. Will Tom go through with his plan or will Charity rumble him before it’s too late?
