Dawn’s worst nightmare as Evan is rushed to hospital in Emmerdale – and a loved one is to blame

Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) has been terrified that Evan could get sick with his weakened immune system in Emmerdale, and while those around her have tried to allay her fears, it turns out she was right to worry as Evan’s life is at risk again.

When Evan first came home, Dawn was reticent to let anyone near him, especially the children, and it became clear she was suffering from health anxiety.

Convinced any slight bug would instantly kill her son, she subtly isolated herself and the baby.

Those around her told her it was perfectly normal while unnecessary, but was Dawn right to be so desperately cautious all along?

Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) is struggling to keep Dawn calm and onside, and he blows his chances when Evan spits up his medication while on his watch.

Dawn loses all faith in Billy in caring for their sick child and left feeling low and on the outside, Billy readily accepts Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) invite for beers.

This of course not only means that Billy gets drunk, a big no-no in over-cautious Dawn’s world, he’s also broken their bubble.

Kim Tate (Claire King) tries to hide what Billy has been up to, but Dawn is pre-occupied with Evan. He’s developed a worrying cough, a sign that he might have another infection.

Petrified, Dawn rushes Evan to hospital and realises that everything she was fearful of is now coming true.

Kim covers for Billy, but is this all his fault?
