Emmerdale’s Caleb and Ruby’s secret past exposed after son Nicky quits the village
Their son Nicky is leaving - but that doesn't mean things are going to go quiet for his parents
EMMERDALE’S Caleb Miligan and wife Ruby’s secret past is to be exposed after son Nicky quits the village.
Caleb – played by Will Ash – arrived in the fictional ITV village on Christmas Day 2022 as the half brother of Cain Dingle.
His estranged wife Ruby – played by Beth Cordingley – joined him in January this year, just as he was enjoying an affair with Tracy Metcalfe.
The couple have been on and off for years, and since Ruby’s arrival, their tumultuous relationship has played out on screen, much to son Nicky’s frustration.
However, in upcoming scenes, Nicky decides to leave Emmerdale with boyfriend Suni Sharma, leaving Caleb and Ruby on their own.
But that doesn’t mean things are going to be boring and quiet for the pair.
This week, Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper has opened up about some of the major storylines fans could expect over the coming months.
One of them focuses on the secrets held by Caleb and his wife Ruby.
She said: “We’ve got Caleb and Ruby who again have kind of landed in the village and had a real impact.
“But we don’t know a huge amount of them. There’s lots in terms of their history, particularly Ruby’s that is yet unknown.
“And we’re going to see a bit of a blast from their past to come back and really give us some more about this complicated relationship between husband and wife.
“And also the complicated family dynamics that we have there.”
She concluded: “So lots to stay tuned for in terms of Caleb and Ruby and their wider story.”
Other major storylines coming up include a sad death of a soap legend and a major stunt which decimates the village.
