SOAP SHOCK Emmerdale murder horror as Charity and Cain make a chilling discovery in blood-soaked cottage as Belle disappears
A special twist for the ITV soap will help viewers dive deeper into a major storyline
EMMERDALE spoilers reveal members of Belle Dingle’s family are set to make a terrifying discovery.
Earlier this year on the ITV soap, Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) married Tom King (James Chase), whom she’d previously dated when they were teenagers.
However, their marriage has been far from smooth sailing with Tom subjecting his new wife to physical and emotional abuse.
In scenes yet to air, two of Belle’s relatives have cause for concern about her – and are set to be left horrified by what they find.
Charity (Emma Atkins) is very concerned after hearing about Tom’s job interview in Wales, as well as the couple’s sudden departure from the village.
Unable to shake off her anxiety, she calls Cain (Jeff Hordley) while admitting how Tom reminds her of her abuser DI Bails (Rocky Marshall).
Meanwhile, the next day, Cain is also left worried after struggling to contact Belle, while Charity discovers Belle has been missing her mental health appointments.
Now feeling very uneasy, the pair decide to break into Tom and Belle’s house to find out where exactly the couple have gone.
Once inside the home, Cain and Charity are alarmed by Tom’s surveillance equipment.
During their rummaging, Charity soon finds an address for a cottage in Wales in Tom’s budget book.
They also discover Belle’s phone stashed in a drawer.
As a result, a now very worried Cain and Charity decide to head to Wales in search of them.
Before long Cain and Charity arrive at the trashed holiday cottage in Wales to find blood on the wall and no Belle in sight.
Having already been anxious for Belle, the pair are terrified about what might have happened.
With the wrecked cottage it all soon becomes clear as the viewers are taken back to the start of the week.
A special flashback episode will allow viewers to see Tom and Belle’s happy arrival at the remote cottage.
However, when Belle overhears her husband arranging to extend their stay, flashbacks reveal the full extent of their week, with scenes revealing Tom’s physical and emotional control over wife Belle and their dog Piper.
With little chance of escape Belle realises she’s totally cut off from all those she loves.
Sophie Roper, Emmerdale Producer, said: “The assistance the charity Refuge has given us whilst researching this storyline has been enormously helpful in bringing this incredibly important storyline to our screens.”
Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX
