Emmerdale Tom King star lets slip what happens to Belle Dingle in tragic flashback episode

Emmerdale star James Chase - who plays Tom King - has seemingly left slip what happens to Belle Dingle after the tragic special flashback episode tomorrow night

James Chase has ‘revealed’ what happens to Belle Dingle and Tom King in a harrowing Emmerdale flashback episode tomorrow night.

In a special trailer for the big episode, blood is seen smeared against the walls and multiple glass and mirrors are broken with both Tom and Belle nowhere to be seen. After showing the clip, Christine Lampard – who was standing in to host for Lorraine Kelly – chatted with actor James, who plays Tom, on what might happen for the pair.

As the trailer aired, Christine said: “Very ominous. It doesn’t look bode well for Belle,” as James added: “It doesn’t.” Asked what else he could say, he added: “I can’t give you any more. I think that would be bad. I think they would get annoyed at me if I spoiled it.”

The scenes can be a tough watch but James credits his co-star Eden Taylor-Draper for making things easier.

Asked how he switches off from filming the big scenes, he said: “Luckily, I’ve been acting since I was 12-years-old. I’ve played other complicated and villainous characters. I’m glad I’ve done that as it helped me coming into this.

“There are definitely days when we’re doing a lot of difficult scenes – a lot of manipulating, a lot of gaslighting, especially the physical stuff. But myself and Eden, we know we have to do this story really carefully. We have to keep our focus on getting the scenes right. I think once you’re done is if you’re happy with what you’re done, that’s most important.”

Could the fact that James is speaking in present tense be a hint that both actors are still filming for the show, and therefore both Belle and Tom survive the bloody cottage scenes – or will someone else meet their maker?

In a new interview with The Mirror, James credited his parents for supporting him – and shared their reaction. He told us: “Mum and dad have been so supportive of me and ever since I was 12 and told them I wanted to be an actor; they’ve always been there for me. They are really proud of me for landing the role as Tom but like me, they think he is a complete b******.

“Nobody in their right mind would say what Tom says to Belle and even though I knew it was going to be a domestic violence storyline, I have been shocked by the levels he will go to. But I am so proud to be part of this storyline. We [him and Eden] both hope if this story helps one person to find the bravery to break out of something so horrible, then that would be incredible.”
