Emmerdale murder ‘sealed’ for Amit Sharma after Rishi death confession
Emmerdale viewers have been left shocked by Amit Sharma's admission during Tuesday's instalment of the ITV serial drama.
However, Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) was left irritated when his uncle Amit Sharma (Anil Goutam) arrived at the bash.
It was followed by a tense exchange between the duo before Amit finally agreed to leave the event to avoid causing further drama.
Ahead of his swift exit from the venue, Suni was handed an envelope which stated that he and Jai would receive Amit’s shares in the HOP after his death.
Later on, Jai received a mysterious text just as it seemed his wife Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) had managed to convince him to return to work.
Is Jai going to work out Amit’s secret?Â
Jai met up with Amit who appeared overjoyed about his return to work and building on their fractured relationship.
However, the episode became sinister when Amit admitted to a motive for his brother Rishi Sharma’s (Bhasker Patel) murder while sitting in a car with his solicitor at night.
Rishi was found dead at the bottom of the stairs last year in heartbreaking scenes on the day of Jai and Laurel’s wedding.
Amit, who was there when his brother died, said to his lawyer on Tuesday’s episode: “I can’t believe they thought I was dying, it worked a treat. I’ve got Jai back on the side.”
Did Amit kill his brother Rishi?Â
Speaking about his business venture, Amit added: “This is a safe bet, I can assure you.”
The solicitor quipped: “It’s because your uncle Ravi helped pay for it…” To which Amit replied: “Yeah, it was a blessing. Everything is as I wanted it and lucky for me I didn’t end up having to share my inheritance with Rishi.”
“Massively convenient, him dying like that,” the solicitor noted to which Amit responded: “Poor Rishi, such a tragedy. Still, it got me out of a bind… Every cloud.”
Emmerdale viewers flocked to Twitter with their theories about Amit following his inadvertent admission.
Marcel penned: “Now I am definitely sure he killed Rishi,” while another added: “I knew he was guilty. Too smarmy for my liking.”
Jack remarked: “The evil amit needs taken down.” Another shared: “Surely this means Amit is temporary, no longer than a year??? #Emmerdale.”
Estella asked: “#Emmerdale. Is Amit holding back any more secrets?” Another said: “#Emmerdale that’s why Rishi was killed -Uncle Ravi’s money went to Amit! Dan dan daaaaaannnn!” (sic)
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
