Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ who ‘murdered’ Rose Jackson – and it’s not who you think

Emmerdale fans have been left guessing over the identity of Rose Jackson's 'killer', with some viewers coming up with an alternative theory that doesn't involve Kim Tate

Emmerdale fanatics reckon they’ve sussed out the real ‘killer’ of Rose Jackson, and it’s not the person who everyone thinks is to blame.

Following the latest plot twists, viewers learned about Rose’s scandalous scheme, which involved charming her ex Will Taylor in an attempt to wreck his marriage with Kim Tatethis was all to get back at Ruby for paying off her debts. Consequently, Kim packed her bags from Home Farm, decamping temporarily to the local B&B while she pieced together Rose’s ulterior motives.

In a dramatic cliffhanger last Friday (August 2), fans watched as Kim and Will abandoned Rose in a remote stretch of the countryside, only for a sinister vehicle to turn up out of the blueit sent shivers down Rose’s spine, and then she was nowhere to be seen, leaving just her belongings including a heart-tugging grandkids’ drawing and a cryptic hospital letter.

Some eagle-eyed viewers are skipping past the easy guess pointing the finger at Kim for being behind Rose’s likely death. They are pondering whether it could really be her once-beloved Will, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Taking to Reddit, sleuth peanut4009 aired this juicy theory: “Could it be that Rose slipped something into Will’s drink before their close encountered a deed that might get read as rape by the law?”

This fan threw out a gripping idea: “Maybe we find out he went back to check on her because he felt bad or because he wanted to make sure she would keep quiet about their one night stand only for Rose being bitter over losing everything to reveal she actually drugged him.”

Some think Will could be guilty

Fans of the show have been cooking up a storm with their theories over the latest dramatic plot twist, with one viewer suggesting: “[She might have] sexually assaulted him which was her original plan for him don’t forget and she spitefully taunted him over it which resulted in Will lashing out and killing her either intentionally or by accident like maybe he shoved her and she fell and cracked her head on that log she was sat on. Then in a panic he got rid of her body, leaving her stuff behind.”

Another fan is stirring the pot, saying: “I don’t know about that, but it was a Home Farm vehicle that we saw pulling up by Rose that second time. The question is, was it someone from Home Farm driving it, or did someone else, like Ruby, steal it to make it look as if it was someone from Home Farm, if there were any witnesses? “.

Meanwhile, another eager beaver speculated: “From the way Kim came in, looking furtive and washing her hands, my best guess at the moment is that Kim was so p***ed off that Will gave Rose that wedge of cash (which ultimately she sees as her money anyway) that she went back to get it, Rose told her about sleeping with Will, Kim belted her in temper, Rose fell down and was knocked unconscious, Kim took the money and legged it back home.”

Rounding off the whirlwind of speculation, another sleuth put forth: “It’s interesting but I think Rose was too freaked out by accidentally spiking Dawn to try and drug Will again. I also think if they were going to do a male rape storyline, it would need to be handled carefully and seriously.”

“That’s not the vibe I get from this storyline, plus think of the consequences – it would make Ruby an accomplice to rape/sexual assault. You can’t redeem someone from that, surely? So Ruby would need to be written out, as well as Rose.”

Rose tried to wreck Kim’s marriage to Will

“And yeah, it’s only two characters but I feel like they have more plans for them. Specifically, I think Evan is going to need bone marrow and Rose is going to be a match, so I don’t think she’s dead.”
