Emmerdale Zak Dingle ‘to be killed off’ by bad guy – but fans ‘never watching again’
Emmerdale fans fear soap legend Zak Dingle will be getting killed off as part of his exit storyline, following the actor's sad death last year.
Emmerdale fans reckon Zak Dingle could be getting killed off by a village bad guy.
Beloved villager Zak, played by Steve Halliwell, made his debut in 1994 and went on to become one of the soap’s much-loved characters as the head of the Dingle clan. Sadly, Steve passed away at the age of 77 last year after numerous health battles.

As fans will recall, Tom has been abusing, gaslighting and lying to Belle for several months. And despite Belle ending things with him, and heading up to Scotland, Tom is not letting Belle go.
In episodes last week, he sneakily got himself his own key to Belle’s home. He then received a suspicious package and snuck into Belle’s home. Later he was seen leaving with a huge smirk on his face.
However, fans are convinced that Tom could actually murder Zak in what would be a huge twist. On X, one viewer mused: “OMG what if Tom ends up going to Scotland and kills Zak. Or Zak saves Belle? Is Charity also going to Scotland?”

A second also wrote: “Weird thing if true. I would never watch #Emmerdale again. Tom, kills Zak when he follows Belle, to Scotland. If true? It’s sick. Off FB. Zak, deserves better.”
While over on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, another viewer mused how Belle could be the one to come home and tell the rest of the Dingle’s about Zak’s passing.
In the comments section, someone else shared the heartbreaking theory of Tom murdering Zak. They wrote: “Tom could travel up to Scotland and Kill Zak, anything is possible but hopefully the writers give Zak a good proper Dingle send-off.”
Currently, Zak is off-screen residing with his granddaughter Debbie in Scotland. Meanwhile, many members of the Dingle family remain in the iconic village but have often made long journeys to visit him.
What’s more, the Yorkshire Dales-based family will receive the heartbreaking news of Zak’s death later this year. An Emmerdale producer confirmed recently that a tribute storyline for both Zak and Halliwell, acknowledging his significant contribution to the show, is in the works.
Just last month, Zak’s daughter Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) took a break from the Dales to visit him, amid the character’s domestic abuse storyline with husband Tom (James Chase).
