Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Moira’s (Natalie J Robb) relationship is in a rocky place in Emmerdale.
Their marriage was hugely impacted in the aftermath of Matty’s (Ash Palmisciano) arrest. As Moira spiralled and grew desperate to save her innocent son, she clashed with Cain multiple times.
Most recently, Moira snapped at Cain again when she spotted him helping Samson (Sam Hall) prepare for time in prison. Because Samson has now confessed the truth, he is waiting for his plea hearing, but knows he will face time behind bars regardless of how that plays out.
In order to get ready, Samson called on Cain for some training, which mainly just involved them throwing punches at each other. While Sam (James Hooton) was grateful for Cain’s help to Moira, it looked as though her husband was helping the horrible young man who put Matty in prison.
Alongside this, we’ve also seen another storyline develop involving Cain and Ella Forster (Paula Lane). When Ella’s child killer secret was exposed, she surprisingly found a friend in Cain.
Cain understood Ella’s ordeal to some extent after his son Kyle (Huey Quinn) killed Al Chapman by shooting him with a gun. For a little while, Ella felt as though the only two people in her corner were Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), and Cain.

As a result of Moira and Cain’s constant arguing, and his developing friendship with Ella, it has left many Emmerdale fans fearing an affair storyline may be on the way, leaving Moira and Cain’s best friend Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) heartbroken.

Following her return to the village, Ella confirmed to Mandy that she was pregnant with Liam’s baby.
Ella was traumatised and struggled to understand where the baby she became so convinced she was carrying had gone. As she wandered out of the room, the doctors rushed to find her but she was long gone.
Ella arrived back and bumped into Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker), who had been contacted by the hospital. It was Manpreet who had to break the news that Ella had suffered what is known as an anembryonic pregnancy.
