Emmerdale

Emmerdale confirms two major prison twists as residents receive life-changing cancer news in 25 pictures

An emotional week approaches for the residents of Emmerdale, with discussions about health and the prospect of jail time at the centre of all the drama, as previewed in Metro’s newest picture gallery.

Tissues not compulsory but definitely recommended!

Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), who recently abducted baby Ivy, contemplates pleading not guilty to charge, refusing to be branded a criminal for simply wanting access to her own daughter.

Can’t blame her.

April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), however, isn’t coping to well with the situation at hand, particularly the animosity at Smithy Cottage, and thus she pays Gus Malcolms (Alan McKenna) a visit.

The teen is determined to get Gus – who has the audacity to believe Rhona is a criminal despite what he did previously – to drop the charges against her in favour of a more amicable solution.

For a moment, it looks like Gus might be set to do the right thing – that is, until he gets wind that Rhona is intending to plead not guilty and therefore he races to the eponymous village, where he confronts his ex-wife.

A confrontation ensues, as confirmed in my pictures above, with Gus winding up injured.

Despite the fact that the situation is one entirely of his own making, Gus refuses to accept any responsibility but, after some thought, he finally agrees to a compromise, suggesting that both he and Rhona change their statements and work towards not guilty verdicts.

What’s more, he claims that he’ll give Rhona access to Ivy and even cancel the house sale and the move to France if she agrees. Will he stay true to his word?

Can Rhona trust a single thing that comes out of his mouth?

With shock bombshells, attacks aplenty and emotions running high, Emmerdale really delivers next week (Picture: ITV)

You’ll just have to wait and see. The storyline in question isn’t the only one seeing emotions run high, with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) revealing to her loved ones that the cause of her cancer is the faulty BRCA2 gene.

As a result, there’s a high likelihood that Cain (Jeff Hordley), Caleb Milligan (William Ash) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) could have it too – and if they do have it then they could pass it on to their children.

It’s set to be a sad one!

Emmerdale airs these scenes between Monday, February 26 and Friday, March 1 at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
