ITV Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ Amit’s downfall and his solicitor’s real identity

Emmerdale fans think they’ve rumbled Amit Sharma’s downfall after a suspicious scene on Tuesday night’s episode with his solicitor Bill.

During the latest instalment, it emerged that the character had been messing with the heads of his sons Suni and Jai Sharma, making them think he was ill or even dying. But it was all part of a bigger plan to get them both onside following weeks of turmoil.

Soap fans will recall that last year Jai’s father Rishi Sharma, who is Amit’s brother, died in what appeared to be a fall. Tragically, Rishi and Jai were not on full speaking terms after Jai had found out he was adopted, and his real father was Amit. It was only months later that Amit arrived in the village, and Jai and Suni realised he was there the day that Rishi died.

Since then Jai has blamed Amit for Rishi’s death, despite him and Suni protesting it was an accident and his brother had fallen during a row. But it appears a murder twist may have been confirmed in the latest episode of the ITV soap, as sinister scenes saw Amit reveal the truth.

Amit has been desperate to get forgiveness from Jai over his parentage and also Rishi’s death. This week, he had his will written up with some changes that showed he’d left his businesses to both sons. Suni feared it meant his dad was dying as it came out of the blue, and Jai too was suspicious over his motive.

During a chat later on, he told Jai it was to secure his and Suni’s futures, and that there was nothing wrong with him. He also said it was to say sorry for everything that had happened, promising there would be “no more secrets” and that Jai knew “everything there is to know about what happened to Rishi”.

However, in a chat with his solicitor Bill later in the episode, the truth emerged as Amit confessed he was using the brothers after all. Not only that but he seemingly confirmed he killed Rishi, and gave a motive why. As he smirked, Amit revealed he and Rishi had been left a huge sum of inheritance money by their relative who had died.

Amit was planning to keep the money for himself, wanting to use it for a business venture it seems. The problem was, Rishi was in the way as he had a share of the inheritance, and so Amit went to visit his sibling resulting in his death. It would seem their big row was about the money and Amit’s plans to use it all, and as Bill questioned the “massive convenience” that was Rishi’s demise and the way he died, Amit made a comment that suggested it was not an accident after all.

With the latest bombshell, viewers have been left wary over Amit’s solicitor, predicting that he could be an undercover police officer investigating Rishi’s death and could lead to his downfall. Taking to social media, one person said: “The man in the car will be his downfall he could be an undercover copper, anything is possible”, a different account put: “Hope he slips up and gets caught” while another added: “It will all come out in the end.”
