THE Emmerdale newcomer is already making enemies in the village as he takes revenge on Aaron Dingle.

Aaron’s worried when it becomes clear that Mack’s responsible for the stolen van and menacing John loses his cool when he spots his van in a lake.

John vows revenge and Aaron and Mack are left feeling guilty when Victoria reveals the van was his home.

Soon, John makes Aaron think he’s interested, but when Aaron tries to go in for a kiss, it’s clear John’s playing with him and leaves Aaron humiliated.

Keen to scare John out of the village, Mack makes a swing for him but is quickly thwarted by John’s professional moves.

Reeling Cain splits Mack and John apart and reveals that he’s given John a job at the farm whilst he’s in the village.

Victoria’s delighted to hear that John will be staying in the village a little longer and Chas encourages Aaron to open up to her about John.

Victoria returns some army dog tags to John, but John’s rattled by her probing at his past.

She is further disheartened when John continues to distance himself from her and Harry.

The former Coronation Street actor teased that they will be a romance on the cards for John.

It’s been confirmed that John is gay, and there appears to be a hint of flirtation with Aaron.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Oliver hinted that his character could be interesting from the start for ITV viewers.

He said: “We find out quite quickly that he’s got a military past, he’s openly gay.

“He does ruffle a few feathers, and he does kind of, you know, catch the eye of the odd person.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
