Emmerdale ‘confirms’ fate of dog piper after Tom King attack – and Belle is heartbroken

Emmerdale fans were left horrified during Friday's episode when Tom King ran over Belle Dingle's dog Piper and it appears things are not looking good for the beloved pooch

The fate of Emmerdale’s beloved canine Piper appears to have been revealed in a first-look clip.

Viewers will remember how Tom King, played by James Chase, has been tormenting and manipulating his wife Belle Dingle, portrayed by Eden Taylor-Draper, for months. However, Belle recently managed to escape his clutches and declared their marriage over.

Despite their separation, Tom has been attempting to win her back with numerous grand gestures. Unbeknownst to Belle, Tom has secretly installed cameras in her home and is monitoring her every move.

In Friday’s episode (August 16), the villainous Tom stooped to new depths when he attacked Belle’s cherished dog, Piper. During the episode, Tom confronted Belle at the Woolpack during Sam’s (James Hooton) birthday party.

Belle stood firm, telling Tom she would rather he didn’t attend her family’s festivities, which left him seething. He grabbed her wrists and began to threaten her, reports the Express.

Later, Tom arrived at Wishing Well Cottage and spotted the innocent Piper. In a disturbing scene, he then intentionally drove his car towards the dog.

In a shocking turn of events, Tom was seen rushing back to the village with Piper, the dog he had just hit with his car, wrapped in a blanket. He feigned concern for the injured animal, leaving Belle, who spotted him exiting the pub, worried about Piper’s wellbeing.

The distressing scene has left viewers deeply concerned for Piper. Unfortunately, things don’t seem promising for the much-loved canine.

A video clip from Monday’s episode (August 19), shared by Metro, shows Belle and Tom returning to the village. Belle is visibly shaken by the terrible incident.

Tom then suggests moving in with Belle, but she has a sudden realisation – Tom was the one who hit Piper.

Enraged, she yells at Tom: “It was you! You’ve killed her! ” This leaves Tom taken aback, as he hadn’t anticipated her discovering his role in the accident.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
