Emmerdale ‘confirms’ new love interest for Kim Tate as Will’s heart breaks

Kim Tate (Claire King) warned husband Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) that he needed to ‘up his game’ in Monday (September 2)’s Emmerdale – but could a distracted Will be headed for heartbreak after a new man arrived in Kim’s life?

Will is currently being blackmailed by an unknown person who is threatening to reveal the fact that Will slept with his ex, Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco), while Kim was away. There was a message with a delivery of flowers that said, ‘I know what you did,’ and he’s been getting texts along the same lines from an unknown number.

In this episode Will set about ruling out people he suspected. He quizzed Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) when he met her in the shop and she seemed perfectly oblivious – although we know that Ruby has one of the best poker faces in the village so perhaps Will shouldn’t dismiss her as a suspect.

Will also ruled out Billy (Jay Kontzle), Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and Lydia (Karen Blick), although we know that it was Billy who told Lydia about Will sleeping with Rose so again Will seems to be ticking off suspects a bit too easily.

This left Rose herself as being the most likely person, so Will dialled the number that he’d been getting the texts from and launched a threatening rant at ‘Rose.’

It wasn’t long before he discovered that it couldn’t have been Rose either, though, because the number he called had a UK dial tone and an online video showed that Rose is definitely in Ibiza, partying at an event that Will verified really took place that day.

Meanwhile Kim doesn’t know that Will has been unfaithful with Rose (or does she? You can never tell with Kim), but has agreed to forgive him for his self-confessed crimes of kissing her and of letting things get so out of hand while she was away that Dawn, Billy and the kids have all moved out and his business is in trouble.

She may have forgiven him, but she’s going to make him work hard for that forgiveness and told him that he needs to ‘up his game,’ starting with taking her to a charity night at a swanky casino.

And in case Will should have any doubts that he really does need to make an effort as far as his wife is concerned, she’s mentioned a few times that she’s been having meetings with Peter – her ‘dashing’ wealth management consultant.

Ominously for Will, in this episode we were introduced to Peter Mansfield (David Michaels) in person.

Kim took him to the Hide where he introduced himself to Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) and proved to be quite a contrast to Will with his suave confidence. Kim decided they would have wine rather than coffee, ‘Since we’re walking home,’ and looked rather pleased to be in his company.

It looks like Will has one more reason to be worried.
