Emmerdale and Coronation Street pulled off air as ITV confirm change to soap schedule
Both Emmerdale and Coronation Street have been taken off air on a number of occasions in recent times and this week will be no different with the ITV soap operas being removed from the schedule
Emmerdale and Coronation Street fans are set for disappointment as the beloved soaps are temporarily axed from ITV’s schedule this week.
An England football match is on the horizon, meaning Emmerdale will be benched from the ITV line-up. Specifically, there will be no Emmerdale airing on ITV1 on Tuesday, September 10. This is due to the channel broadcasting the England men’s football team’s match against Finland.
This scheduling shake-up comes amidst a pivotal time for Emmerdale, with Tom King and Belle Dingle’s tumultuous marriage taking even more shocking twists, reports Leeds Live.
On Wednesday, September 13, the National Television Awards’s will be broadcast live from London’s O2 Arena with stars within the industry will be gracing the red carpet and taking to the stage to celebrate their accolades, meaning that Corrie will not air that night.

The Masked Singer UK presenter Joel Dommett will host the star-studded awards ceremony which celebrates the Best of British TV. Fans will witness actors taking their seats in the auditorium as the show begins at 8pm and it will carry on until at least 10:35pm.
This means that Coronation Street viewers will miss out on making room for the live programme.
However, an episode of Emmerdale will air on Wednesday right before the 2024 NTA’s. At the highly-anticipated ceremony, huge shows will go head to head in a battle for the public vote.
For over a decade, This Morning won an award for Best Daytime/Live Magazine Show but it all came to an awkward end following the presenters quitting their roles.

For 12 years running, from 2011 to 2022 former hosts like Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby scooped the trophy. However, the show lost in the nominations in 2023 to The Repair Shop which left fans shocked.
This year, the likes of Ben Shephard and Cat Deely will go head to with the likes of Loose Women for the daytime TV crown.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
