Emmerdale Tom’s exit date ‘revealed’ in murder twist – and fans don’t have to wait long

Emmerdale viewers are convinced they know when Tom King will leave the ITV soap following months of abusing Belle Dingle.

Emmerdale viewers believe they have figured out when villain Tom King, portrayed by James Chase, will make his exit from the Dales – and it’s imminent.

The character has been a source of turmoil during his time in the village, particularly for his wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), who he has been abusing and manipulating.

Belle has since ended their marriage after seeing his ‘true’ nature and has reported him to the police. Despite this, Tom continues to torment her, even going as far as installing cameras in her home and software on her laptop to monitor her every move.

He also stooped to a new low when he seemingly killed her dog Piper, leaving Belle heartbroken. In recent episodes, it was revealed that Tom is now dating Amelia (Daisy Campbell), which has left Belle terrified for the young girl.

However, last week, Belle confided in Charity (Emma Atkins) about the abuse she suffered at the hands of Tom. This led to an emotional confrontation as Charity informed Belle’s brother Cain (Jeff Hordley) about the horrific ordeal Belle had endured.

With the truth about Tom’s actions now coming to light, it seems his downfall is imminent. Furthermore, reports from July indicated that actor James Chase has departed the ITV soap after a two-year stint, reports the Manchester Evening News.

An insider revealed to The Sun: “It’s the right time to leave. James has loved his time on the show playing such a powerful story but the truth is that characters like Tom have a shelf life for a reason.

“There’s no long-term redemption for Tom coming – he has to leave one way or the other,” they added.

Fans are now speculating about when Tom will make his exit from the village. Many took to social media, convinced that he could meet his end in a dramatic Christmas episode.

On X, previously known as Twitter, one user declared: “Definitely giving vibes that Belle is gonna kill Tom off Christmas.” Another speculated: “I can’t help thinking Belle is going to clout Tom around the head and be in prison for murder come Christmas.

A third joined the conversation, stating: “Really hoping someone kills Tom off at Christmas. “Echoing these sentiments, another viewer pondered: “He won’t leave her alone until he’s stopped so that will be why it goes on until Christmas!”

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
