Does Cain or Moira die in Emmerdale? Fans ‘rumble secret death’ after explosion

Emmerdale's Moira Dingle and Cain Dingle were trapped in the burning barn just as it exploded, leaving their loved ones fearing they would die - but are the characters leaving?

The fates of two Emmerdale favourites remain unknown after Wednesday’s dramatic fire stunt, as an explosion ripped through Moira Dingle’s barn.

While a couple of other residents could still be in grave danger, two village favourites remained trapped in the barn as it burst into flames in the latest episode. In the scenes, Moira and her husband Cain Dingle battled to escape the inferno, with Ruby Miligan rescued by Mackenzie Boyd and John Sugden.

As John and Mack stayed outside with Ruby as well as Cain’s siblings Caleb Miligan and Chas Dingle, Cain was shown searching the fire-engulfed barn for his missing wife. He eventually found her and the pair did their best to flee the blaze.

Moira told her husband she loved him amid a rocky time for the pair, as Cain grabbed a large blanket or cover in the hope of using it as a shield against the rising flames. Grabbing Moira and covering them both with the sheet, they made their way to the front of the barn as their loved ones waited outside, hoping to see them emerge.

But as the episode came to an end on Wednesday, the barn erupted into a fireball and sent all those outside of the barn flying to the ground. Cain and Moira were still inside as the explosion hit, with their fates now not known.

As Chas screamed out for her brother, fearing he could be dead, Moira’s brother Mack looked on in a panic. The episode ended before we could find out what happened to them, and if anyone else was in danger.

But it’s not Coira who fans are worried for, and they suspect someone else could end up being killed off on the show. As the scenes unfolded one character was notably missing, Cain’s son Nate Robinson.

In the previous episode he was disowned by Cain and wife Tracy after being accused of having an affair with Moira again. Nate protested his innocence but wasn’t believed, with Cain telling him he was not his son.

With Nate AWOL after an apparent exit, we did not see him at all in the latest episode, while the last time we saw him was on the farm. Viewers believe Nate will meet a grisly end in the explosion after his sad showdown with Cain.

Taking to X, one fan posted: “It only makes sense that Nate dies,” as another said: “Why cant they just let Nate leave rather than killing him off?” A third fan posted: “Think it’s obvious Nate is the one that’s gonna die.”
