EastEnders fans ‘raging’ after BBC soap is snubbed for NTA and beaten by Emmerdale

EastEnders has missed out on winning one National Television Award despite being nominated in multiple categories, and fans are fuming. The National Television Awards returned to ITV live from the O2 Arena in Greenwich, London on Wednesday evening (September 11). Comedian Joel Dommett hosted the glamorous awards show celebrating the very best of TV from over the past year.
However, EastEnders fans have been reeling after the BBC One soap failed to scoop one award despite being nominated in the categories for Serial Drama Performance and Serial Drama.
Actress Angela Wynter was up for the best drama performance gong for her portrayal of Walford’s Yolande Trueman, alongside co-star Diane Parish who plays Denise Fox.
But Peter Ash won the award for his portrayal of Paul Foreman in Coronation Street following his character’s tragic diagnosis of motor neurone disease (MND)
