Tom King (James Chase) will continue to lurk around Emmerdale like a harbinger of pain, determined that he will make Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) pay for standing up to him.

Missing from the village after realising Cain (Jeff Hordley) knows the truth about his abuse of his wife, Tom was found lurking in the woods, when Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) secretly met him.

Still having the wool pulled over her eyes by evil Tom, Amelia reckons he’s innocent, but those who are close to her are rightfully fearing for her safety.

As they try to reach her with the truth, they risk pushing her away. But when Chas (Lucy Pargeter) is stunned to discover that Amelia is meeting with Tom.

Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and mum Kerry (Laura Norton) also wade in, with very different approaches to the situation.

So what’s happening next week?

Chas interrupts Amelia secretly stashing food into her bag. After a heated debate about Tom’s innocence, Chas is left gobsmacked by Amelia’s adamant defence of him.

Later, Chas, Amy, and Kerry discuss their concern about Amelia falling for Tom’s lies and Amy tries to convince Kerry to be tactful with her.

However, Amelia arrives and the conversation quickly turns to arguments over Tom. Frustrated, Amelia storms off and Amy encourages Kerry not to push Amelia too hard, or she’ll shut them out.

The next day, Amy’s concerned when she overhears Amelia telling Vanessa that Tom’s suspension from the surgery is unfair.

Later still, Amelia’s uncomfortable when Amy broaches the subject of Tom with her. She’s conflicted when Amy gently explains that Tom may be lying to her. Can she get through to her?

With Tom’s gaslighting weighing heavily on her and his ability to expertly manipulate, it seems inevitable that things will get worse before they get better.
