AN Emmerdale sensation has hinted that they could be about to make a dramatic return to the soap as part of Tom King’s downfall.

Một ngôi sao của Emmerdale đã ám chỉ rằng họ có thể sắp có sự trở lại ngoạn mục với phim truyền hình dài tập này như một phần trong sự sụp đổ của Tom King.

Fans of the ITV soap opera were left watching through their fingers earlier this year as the evil Tom King sunk to horrific new depths involving one character – and it wasn’t his abused wife Belle.

Piper the dog, played by real-life pooch Minnie, was subjected to cruel treatment by her owner Tom.

He intentionally drugged her to the point of intense sickness and sedation as part of his plan to control Belle.

It allowed Belle to remain in his sight at all times after she was forced to care for the sick pup.

He later forced Piper to sleep outside in the cold overnight during a horror trip to Wales.

The horrific final straw saw him purposefully run over Piper requiring her to have surgery and then faking her death in order to leave his wife distraught.

However, fans of Emmerdale know that Piper was actually re-homed by Tom after he faked her death which could mean the dog could yet be seen on-screens.

Now, the owner of Piper has suggested that it may not have been the last we have seen of the dog.

Fresh from winning the very first Best Pet award at the Inside Soap Awards, when asked if the dog could be back, Piper’s owners exclusively told The Sun: “She is alive – you never know!”

Elsewhere, her owners admitted they were left in floods of tears as they watched the horror abuse scenes play out on-screens.

They added to The Sun: “I cried. I cried watching them even though I was there when they were being filmed.

“So I know she was never under any stress but their editing work was amazing.

“The editing is incredble.”

Earlier this year, the soap was forced to issue a statement after many viewers were left worried that Minnie had actually been subjected to Tom’s horrors whilst in character as Piper.

Just shy of 1,000 people complained to Ofcom about the pre-watershed scenes.

Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw previously said of the scenes: “Whenever you put any sort of pet in danger on Emmerdale or anything everyone goes up in arms about it.”

In an additional post, producers were keen to emphasise that although horrific scenes are shown on-screen, backstage it is a completely different story.

On X, a short video clip was posted by the official account of the soap, which showed staffers stroking the small dog in a loving way.

The post read: “Some scenes can be upsetting to watch, but Minnie (AKA Piper) is treated with nothing but love and lots of cuddles on set.”
