Tom King (James Chase) was finally arrested in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale after abusing and controlling his wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper).
Yesterday, Belle made her way to the police station with the intention of reporting Tom. After she stabbed her husband in the back with an axe, the Dingles assisted Belle by covering her tracks. The axe was buried near a coffin for Piper (which is actually empty, don’t forget), and Charity (Emma Atkins) helped Belle by creating an alibi for her.
Belle changed her mind about choosing this path after seeing Tom in hospital. Instead, she found the axe, went to the police station, said she had attacked her husband in self defence, and that she is a victim of domestic abuse.
Two detectives arrived at the hospital to see Tom at the start of tonight’s episode. To his shock, Tom was then arrested.
In a police interview room, a detective questioned Tom about his relationship with Belle, and the fact he had claimed someone unknown was responsible for the axe attack.
The detective could certainly sense Tom was lying and caught him out a couple of times. His desperation growing, all Tom could do was continue to spin the story about him being the victim and Belle being violent as a result of her mental health.
When the police officers left, Tom made an admission to his solicitor.
He confirmed that he owns a tablet which will still have hidden security camera footage on it. The solicitor felt troubled, given Tom had not only said it was just the one camera, but that everything recorded had been deleted.
The evil man revealed the device will be at Jimmy’s (Nick Miles) house and has zombie case he borrowed from Carl.
Meanwhile, at the King household, the young lad sat with the tablet playing a game, completely unaware he is also holding the key to proving Tom has been abusing and controlling Belle for months.
