Emmerdale’s Moira Dingle ‘framed’ for killing sheep – and real murderer is ‘close to her’

Emmerdale fans are convinced they have worked out who is really responsible for Moira Dingle's sheep being killed.

Emmerdale viewers believe they’ve cracked the mystery of who killed Moira Dingle’s sheep – and it wasn’t her.

The beloved character, portrayed by Natalie J. Robb, has been dealing with a series of dramatic events in the Dales, including a brain tumour diagnosis that has left her family concerned for her wellbeing. Despite her attempts to maintain a positive outlook, Moira’s condition often leaves her disoriented, leading to mistakes.

In a recent episode (October 2), Moira bought a flock of sheep for her son Isaac, only for Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) and Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb) to find several of them lifeless on the farm.

Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) arrived to confirm the grim news, asking if the sheep had eaten from a nearby trough.

A confused Moira confirmed this, believing her son Matty had fed them. However, Matty quickly corrected her, revealing that she had been the one to feed the sheep.

Vanessa then discovered paint around the sheep’s mouths and on the hay in the trough, reports Leeds Live. Moira found herself in a perplexing situation when she was accused of inadvertently causing harm to livestock after paint was discovered in the field.

Despite her protests and alibi of fence painting, evidence seemed to stack against her, leaving Moira and her family bewildered and distressed.

Yet, the show’s avid viewers are not convinced of Moira’s guilt, speculating on social media that she’s been framed.

On an Emmerdale fan page, one viewer speculated: “I do think it’s Mac that has done something the sheep to keep Moira inside.” Another echoed the sentiment, suggesting Mackenzie Boyd, played by Lawrence Robb, might be involved: “I was thinking the same I think he done it.”

A third fan expressed concern for a setup: “We thought that. Hope she’s not getting set up!”

Meanwhile, some fans suspect Ross Barton, a character known for his tumultuous history with Moira, could be orchestrating a revenge plot, with one fan theorising: “I’m suspicious that someone is going out of their way to get Moira blamed for what they are doing. Could Ross want revenge she did destroy his mother for having affairs with his father.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
