Kim Tate (Claire King)’s life has been something of a mess recently on Emmerdale. Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco) arrived at Home Farm and, like a hurricane, left an enormous amount of damage in her wake and Kim is only gradually picking up the pieces.

The knowledge that Rose and Will (Dean Andrews) slept together was massively upsetting for Kim, and she took spectacular revenge by making Will believe he was being blackmailed by someone who threatened to expose his secret about Rose to Kim.

By the time he found out that Kim was behind the blackmail all along, he was flat on his back in a coffin in the woods, with Kim standing triumphantly over him.

Since then, the two have been pitted against each other. Will was upset when Kim slept with her financial advisor and he paid Kerry (Laura Norton) to pretend  she’d slept with him as revenge.

Unsurprisingly, when he later tried to convince Kim to give their marriage another go, she sent him packing – literally.

Will pleaded with her to reconsider, but she stood firm. And this decision was a turning point for Will, whose attitude hardened at that moment as battle lines were drawn between the couple.

Will’s departure has left Home Farm very empty indeed. Dawn (Olivia Bromley), Billy (Jay Kontzle) and their children had already moved out because Dawn was angry with the way Kim and Will treated her mother, Rose.

Prior to that, Gabby (Rosie Bentham) and Thomas had gone to live with Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) because Dawn and Billy’s son, Evan, has leukaemia and more people in the house increased the chance that Evan could catch something infectious.

Alone in the big house, Kim makes a decision and asks Gabby to move back to Home Farm. Kim has missed having her grandson Thomas around, and she’s also missed Gabby.

She’s going to need all the allies she can get soon, as Will has started plotting with Caleb to bring her down. Will Gabby be the support she needs?

And what will Kim make of Gabby’s new boyfriend Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) spending time at Home Farm?
