Who do you think attacked Cindy Beale?
WITH the 40th anniversary of EastEnders just around the corner, there is still one question on the mind of every Albert Square fan – who attacked Cindy Beale?
The dramatic storyline looks set to reach its conclusion during this week’s epic episodes of the BBC soap opera with fans set to be left gasping at the whodunnit reveal.
Michelle Collins previously teased to The Sun that fans of the show would be surprised at the reveal, stating: “It’s obviously someone very close to her and I think that’s what is so hard for her.
“I didn’t even know for a long time until we had a reveal at work. It’s not who people are thinking of – that’s all I’m going to say.
“It’s not someone you’ll expect, but it’s one of those suspects.”
So ahead of the big reveal, The Sun has taken a look at each of the suspects and examined just why they might want revenge on Cindy!
Gina Knight
Cindy’s eldest daughter Gina has long remained a likely suspicion as to if she could be the attacker.
She was left furious at her mother for her constant meddling in people’s lives before the attack at Christmas.
Junior, Gina’s half-brother and Cindy’s lover, was deeply suspicious it could be her before secretly displacing of the shovel used to attack Cindy himself.
In a further twist, Gina confessed to being the one who threw the brick and left the threatening note, aiming to scare her mum.
But her whereabouts were later seemingly revealed as to where she was when Cindy’s attack took place.
She had secretly slept with Anna’s boyfriend, Freddie Slater!

Anna Knight
She is Cindy’s youngest daughter – but could she be the most d.e.a.d.l.y?
Whilst for the most part, Anna, played by Molly Rainford, is rather meek and mild – she has been notably uncomfortable in the weeks that have passed since Cindy’s attack.
It hasn’t been made explicitly clear as to where Anna was at the time of the attack but she was left disappointed in her mum following the Christmas Day showdown.
Could Anna have finally seen red and snapped once and for all in an attempt to k.i.l.l her mum?
Lauren Branning
She became the very first suspect in the case after being the primary cause for Cindy and Junior’s affair being exposed and the disastrous Christmas Day meal.
Lauren and Cindy had been feuding with Cindy shockingly helping to encourage Lauren’s p.a.i.n.k.i.l.l.e.r habit despite her being pregnant.
Cindy had previosuly put the blame at Lauren’s feet with the Walford resident arrested and interviewed for the attack whilst Cindy was in a coma.
However, when Lauren was later with Cindy when a brick was thrown through the window, seemingly from the attacker, it appeared that the Branning lass was out of the frame for her mother-in-law’s assault.
But – with Gina admitting to doing it just to scare her mum, could that have been the perfect way for Lauren to appear to get away with the crime.
Could Cindy have been right all along in Lauren being the k.i.l.l.e.r?
Junior Knight
He was the scorned lover left behind.
Junior was left fuming when Cindy attempted to ditch him last minute in order to save her union with Ian Beale.
Weeks after the attack, he was seen in possession of the shovel used to attack his lover around the head.
Cindy also accused Junior of the attack but he quickly denied it.
The pair later began to grow close once again but was this all just a part of Junior’s plan to be as close to Cindy as possible in order to be the last likely person to have attacked her?
Kathy Beale
Could Kathy be involved in her second brutal assault in the space of 18 months.
Kathy is the only one to have continually had a rocky relationship with Cindy since her return from the d.e.a.d.
She was even one of the first to find her after the attack – but was this all part of her cunning plan?
She has made no secret of wanting Cindy out of her life and has been unapologetically honest in her feelings towards towards her since the attack.
Could being invovled in Keanu’s murder and the eloborate cover-up have spurred the cafe owner on to go one step-further and attempt a k.i.l.l.i.n.g all be herself?
