George Knight (Colin Salmon) and Elaine Peacock’s (Harriet Thorpe) big EastEnders wedding is almost upon us – but the preparations won’t go without a hitch!

The pair have been engaged for quite some time, though there have been a number of hurdles that have got in the way.

Enter Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), who became determined to win her ex-husband back and nothing was going to stop her getting there.

After the two former lovers enjoyed a smooch, Elaine threw George out of their family home above The Queen Vic pub.

Luckily, they later reconciled and the whole cast were spotted filming wedding scenes on location in September.

Hurrah!

Next week, Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) is disheartened to hear that his son Xavier won’t be arriving from Dubai to attend the nuptials.

Viewers will remember that the youngster left with his mother Monique earlier in the year, when she found out that Junior had cheated on her with Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer).

Sister Gina (Francesca Henry) makes a bid to cheer her brother up, and tells him that if she can find a date to the wedding within the next 24 hours, then he has to bring his mystery girlfriend as his plus one.

The lover in question? Cindy, of course. Keep it in the family.

After she bags herself a fella, and Anna (Molly Rainford) announces she too has someone to bring along, Gina informs Junior that he’s lost the bet.

When she tears strips off him about being a love rat, he wriggles his way out and announces that he’s been dumped.

Elsewhere, the wedding preparations are ramping up, with Elaine’s grandson Johnny (Charlie Suff) in charge of arranging the hen do. She makes a bid to George to ask Junior to be best man, in the hope that it will lift his mood.

Unable to find the courage, he approaches best pal Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) instead.

When the Walford hard man realises what’s going on, he encourages his mate to be brave and speak up.

George finally asks Junior, but what will he say? Will the guilt of sleeping with his former step-mother prove too much?
