BBC Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise’s Selwyn Patterson’s future ‘revealed’ in spoiler pictures
A first-look at the Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise finale has seemingly hinted at what's in store for Selwyn Patterson
Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise is gearing up for its grand finale, set to be broadcast on Friday, 28 March, wrapping up its fourteenth season. This season welcomed DI Mervin Wilson (Don Gilet) as he stepped into the shoes left by DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little).
The latest series has featured revelations about Mervin’s past, including the unsettling truth surrounding his mum’s Dᴇᴀᴛʜ and his own adoption story.
Meanwhile, Selwyn Patterson (Don Warrington) has been wrestling with his own troubles, most notably discovering that the Honore Police Department had decided to terminate his services after a dedicated half-century.
To make matters worse, Sterling Fox (Trieve Blackwood-Cambridge), Selwyn’s successor, arrived on the scene.
However, Selwyn’s unwavering dedication, particularly his involvement in solving the case of Mervin’s late mother’s murder and ensuring justice was served, underscored his indispensable role within the police force.
Intriguingly, a sneak peek of the much-awaited final episode indicates that Selwyn might be reinstated. But the question hanging in the air is whether he will embrace the offer to return or choose to decline it.
First-look snaps from the Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise finale have fans buzzing as Catherine is seen apparently congratulating Selwyn. Another image captures the pair on the verge of an embrace, with Mervin looking on.
Viewers are eagerly anticipating the resolution to Selwyn’s dilemma in the finale, which was delayed longer than expected due to this year’s Comic Relief taking over the Friday slot on 21 March on BBC One.
The final episode’s synopsis teases: “Mervin is about to fly home but finds himself at the centre of a murder investigation when a body is discovered in his shack. As Mervin professes his innocence, the team can’t work out how the victim ended up inside a locked building with no sign of forced entry.
“The woman’s identity remains elusive until they discover she was volunteering at a local turtle conservation charity, and suspicion falls on her colleagues.
“Meanwhile, Selwyn grapples with his most difficult decision yet when he delivers some personal news to Mervin that turns everything on its head.”
Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise airs on Friday, 28 March on BBC One at 8pm
