BBC EastEnders clue you missed that Martin Fowler d.i.e.s in horror explosion
EastEnders fans are concerned for Martin Fowler's fate after a new clue ahead of the big explosion at the Queen Vic, leaving Walford and its community devastated
EastEnders fans are even more worried about Martin Fowler’s fate after a new clue.
We know this week the Queen Vic will go up in flames – and bosses have teased d.e.a.t.h and destruction. We are yet to find out who will d.i.e. and how many will d.i.e but there have been big fears that Martin could meet his end.
Now fans of the BBC soap are convinced they’ve seen multiple clues that hints at a potential exit for Martin in a devastating fire twist. Martin – played by James Bye – was also born the same year the show started.
Referencing yesterday’s episode, one fan wrote: “Oh I don’t like this… 1/3/2001 – Jamie up a ladder putting up wedding decorations. 17/2/2025 – Martin up a ladder putting up wedding decorations. Anyhow Reiss mows Martin down with that clapped out Volvo (mirroring Martin running over Jamie), I’ll be DEVASTATED. #EastEnders.”

Another feared seeing both Stacey and Sharon in black was worrying for Martin’s future. One wrote: “People wearing black… Stacey, Sharon… there’s something in that,” whilst another added: “The fact that he’s standing out in his bright suit doesn’t bode well.”
Stacey is expected to play a key role in this anniversary celebrations – but could that be Martin’s demise?
She said: “I’m really excited. I am a big EastEnders fan and have grown up watching it. To see it hit 40 years is epic. I did the 25th but I think I might have missed one of the anniversaries, so I am very happy to not miss this one.
“I really enjoy taking part in the live episodes which is weird because anything live would normally scare the life out of me. You get such an adrenaline rush from it. Hopefully this one will go as smoothly for me!”

Chris Clenshaw previously heaped praise on the soap, as he prepares to bow out after the 40th anniversary celebrations.
He told Radio Times: “It belongs to the audience. From episode one, it’s been about a community looking out for each other and on top of that, there have been those stories that pack a punch like Who K.i.l.l.e.d Reg Cox? Which is a story we’d play today. Balance is the key, between what’s exciting and social realism. You can have a storyline like Lola’s, which was about a young mother facing terminal cancer. And in another part of the forest, you’ve got the high-concept camp of ‘The Six’ a m.u.r.d.e.r mystery with six iconic matriarchs.”
